Draw Lots Online - Winner and Blank Slips | SpinPick

Choose how many slips and winners, then shuffle. Pass the phone around and let each person tap a slip to open it.

How to draw lots

Under Set winners, choose the number of slips and how many of them win. All the other slips are blank.

If you need several kinds of result, such as a prize, a forfeit and a chore, choose Write results and put one result on each line.

Press Shuffle slips to lay out the folded slips. Pass the phone around, let each person tap one slip to open it, and type who drew it in the box under the slip if you like.

When everyone has drawn, press Copy results and paste them into your group chat. Open all shows every remaining slip at once.

Writing your own results

If you write fewer results than there are slips, the extra slips are blank. Three results on ten slips gives seven blanks. If you write more results than slips, the draw cannot start, so add slips or remove results. To put the same result on several slips, write that line several times; empty lines are skipped. Writing seat numbers from 1 upward turns it into a seat draw.

How the draw stays fair

SpinPick decides a slip's result at the moment you open it. It picks one of the results that have not come out yet with your browser's crypto.getRandomValues. Every remaining result has the same chance, and values from the uneven end of the random range are thrown away and drawn again, so there is no modulo bias. The odds are the same as shuffling all the slips at the start, and drawing first or last gives the same chance of winning.

Because no slip has a result until it is opened, there is nothing to find by looking at the screen or the page code. The results are not recorded on a server, though, so the tool cannot prove afterwards that a draw was run properly. It works best when everyone can see the screen.

Good for

Picking who does a chore, who presents first, or who runs an errand

Choosing who takes a forfeit at a get-together

Handing out seat numbers in class or at a team dinner

Sharing out small prizes in a small group

How is each result decided?

At the moment a slip is opened, one of the results that has not come out yet is drawn with your browser's crypto.getRandomValues. Every remaining result is equally likely and a result never comes out twice. The odds match shuffling every slip at the start, but no slip holds a result before it is opened, so there is nothing to peek at.

How is this different from the ladder lottery or the wheel?

The wheel picks one thing per spin, and the ladder lottery matches every player with an outcome on one screen (up to 10). Drawing lots has people pass one phone around and choose their own slip, which suits taking turns one by one and larger groups (up to 100 slips).

Can I use it to pick prize winners at an event?

It is meant for casual decisions among friends or coworkers. Results are not stored on a server and can be redrawn at any time with Shuffle again or a page reload, so there is no record to prove who drew what. For a prize draw, run it where everyone can see the screen and copy the results right away. For an official draw that needs an audit trail, use a method that keeps records.

Is anything I type saved?

Only the setup, such as the number of slips, the number of winners and your list of results, is kept in this browser for next time. Opened results and names are not saved and disappear when you reload, and nothing is sent to a server.

Secret Santa Generator - Draw Names and Send Private Links | SpinPick

Enter names and draw. Everyone gets a private link that reveals only their own match, and nothing is stored on a server.

How to run a Secret Santa draw

Enter the participants, one name per line. You can have 3 to 100 people.

Add couples, family members or anyone else who should not draw each other under Pairs who must not draw each other.

Add a gift budget, exchange date and a note if you like, then press Draw names.

Send each person their own private link. When they open it and tap the gift, they see who they are buying for, along with the budget and date.

Keep the organizer in the dark too

The result list shows only names and link buttons, never who drew whom. If you copy or send the links without opening them, you can take part as a participant without knowing anyone's match. Names you have copied or sent are marked Sent so nobody gets missed. If you are not taking part, Show all pairs lets you check the full draw.

How the links work

The draw is stored in each link after the # sign, not on a server. Browsers never send the part after # to the website, so SpinPick's server never sees names or results. Each link carries only one person's match, so whoever receives it cannot learn anyone else's.

The data in a link is scrambled so it cannot be read at a glance, but it is not encrypted. An organizer who has every link, or anyone who receives a link, could decode it with some effort. That is the trade-off of working without a server, so ask everyone to open only their own link.

How the names are drawn

Everyone draws exactly one person who is not themselves, and everyone is drawn exactly once (mathematicians call this a derangement). The order is shuffled with your browser's crypto.getRandomValues and reshuffled until it meets every rule: nobody draws themselves, excluded pairs, and optionally no two people drawing each other. That makes every valid draw equally likely. If 20,000 shuffles still fail because there are many exclusions, a search finds a valid draw instead, and if the rules make a draw impossible, the tool tells you why.

Tips for a fun gift exchange

Set a budget so nobody feels awkward about price differences.

Ask everyone to post one gift hint in the group chat.

The game has many names: Secret Santa in English, amigo invisible in Spanish, and manito (마니또) in Korean.

I lost the links. Can I get them back?

Open this page again on the same device and browser and the links from your last draw are still there. They are stored only on this device, and Delete result removes them at any time.

What happens to old links if I draw again?

Old links keep working, because each result lives inside its link rather than on a server. If you draw again, send everyone their new link and tell them to ignore the old one.

Can I stop couples from drawing each other?

Yes. Add the two people as a pair who must not draw each other and neither will draw the other. If the exclusions make a draw impossible, you are told before anything is drawn.

Does it work with only 3 people?

Yes, but with 3 people there are only two possible draws, A to B to C to A or the reverse, so knowing your own match lets you work out the rest. It is more fun with 4 or more.

Narrow them down head to head in the food bracket.

About the lists

The occasion and cuisine lists are examples of common dishes that SpinPick put together. They are not tied to any restaurant or brand and are not a popularity ranking. The winning slice is chosen with your browser's crypto.getRandomValues before the wheel starts turning, so every slice has the same chance. Your edited list is saved only in this browser.

Can I add or remove dishes?

Yes. Edit the list next to the wheel (below it on phones), one dish per line, and the wheel updates instantly. You can use up to 200 entries.

Is my edited list saved?

It is kept only in this browser, so it is still there next time. Pressing another list replaces it, so share a link to any list you want to keep.

Is the result really random?

Yes. The winning slice is picked with a cryptographic random number before the spin starts, and every slice is equally likely.

Flip a Coin - Heads or Tails Online, Up to 10 Coins | SpinPick

Press Flip to get heads or tails instantly. Toss several coins at once or settle a decision best of three.

How to use it

Choose how many coins to toss, from 1 to 10.

Press Flip, or press Space or Enter.

Check the running tally for heads and tails counts and percentages, and the history for each toss.

Settle it best of N

When one toss feels too final, switch to Best of N. In a best of 3, the first side to come up twice wins. Give heads and tails names such as "Pizza" and "Tacos" and the result shows those names. Best of N always tosses one coin at a time.

Good for

Choosing between two options, like where to eat or what to watch

Deciding who kicks off or picks a side before a game

Probability lessons: toss 10 coins many times and watch the percentages settle

How the result is decided

Each coin is decided with a random number from your browser's crypto.getRandomValues. Instead of simply taking the remainder after dividing by 2, values from the uneven tail of the range are thrown away and drawn again (rejection sampling), so the remainder step adds no modulo bias. The result is fixed before the animation starts; the animation only shows it. If your device is set to reduce motion, the result appears without animation.

Is a real coin really 50/50?

Research suggests a hand-flipped coin lands on the side that started face up slightly more often. A 2007 physics model by Diaconis, Holmes and Montgomery predicted about 51%, and an experiment in which 48 people flipped coins 350,757 times (Bartoš et al., released in 2023) found the starting side about 50.8% of the time, while heads and tails overall came up 50.0% each. This tool does not use a starting side; the result comes only from the random number.

Are heads and tails equally likely?

Yes. Each coin picks heads or tails with equal probability. Because it is random, streaks and percentages away from 50% are normal over a few tosses. Over many tosses the percentages usually move closer to 50%.

Does the last result affect the next one?

No. Every toss uses a fresh random number, so even after five heads in a row the next toss is still a 50% chance of heads.

Which best-of formats are there?

Best of 3, 5, 7 and 9. Once a side wins, the next toss starts a new match.

Where is my history stored?

The running tally and the last 20 tosses are kept only in this browser.

Dice Roller - Roll d4, d6, d8, d10, d12, d20 Online | SpinPick

Pick how many dice and which kind, then press Roll. You get each die and the total right away.

How to use it

Choose 1 to 10 dice and a die type: d4, d6, d8, d10, d12 or d20. A regular six-sided die is selected to start.

If your game adds or subtracts a fixed number, enter it as the modifier. Leave it at 0 to add nothing.

Press Roll, or press Space or Enter, to see each die, the total and your roll history.

Reading dice notation

The history shows notation like 2d6+3. The first number is how many dice, the number after d is how many sides, and the last part is the modifier. So 2d6+3 means roll two six-sided dice and add 3 to the total.

Why totals bunch up in the middle

Each face of a single die is equally likely, but totals of several dice are not. With two six-sided dice there are 36 possible combinations: 6 of them add up to 7, the most of any total, while 2 and 12 have only one each. That is why middle totals come up often and extreme totals rarely.

Good for

Board games when the dice have gone missing

Tabletop role-playing games that need d20s, d12s and other polyhedral dice

Deciding turn order, picking a forfeit, or probability lessons

How the result is decided

Each die is decided with a random number from your browser's crypto.getRandomValues. Values from the uneven tail of the range are thrown away and drawn again (rejection sampling), so dividing by the number of sides adds no modulo bias. The rolling animation lasts under 0.6 seconds and is skipped when your device is set to reduce motion.

Does the d10 go from 0 or from 1?

Here the d10 shows 1 to 10. If your game uses physical d10s marked 0 to 9, read a 10 as 0.

What is the modifier?

A fixed number added to or subtracted from the total. You can enter -99 to 99. It changes only the total, not the individual dice.

The same number came up several times in a row. Is it broken?

No. Every roll is independent, so repeats happen naturally. On a six-sided die the chance of matching the previous roll is 1 in 6 every time.

Is my history saved?

Your settings and last 20 rolls are kept only in this browser.

Would You Rather - 100+ Questions and a Friend Match Game | SpinPick

If you could only pick one, which would it be? Answer 10 questions, send the link, and your friend answers the same ones to see how well you match.

How to play

Choose a question pack. Mixed draws from the everyday, food, travel, school and work, and superpowers packs. The dating and friends pack only appears when you pick it.

Press Start and tap one of the two options. On a keyboard, use ← or 1 and → or 2, and fix an answer with Previous question.

When you finish, press Send to a friend. Your friend answers the same 10 questions without seeing your picks, then sees your match percentage and a question-by-question comparison.

Your friend can send their own answers back. If you open their link on the device where you already answered those questions, you can compare right away without playing again.

How the match percentage works

It is the number of questions where you both picked the same side, divided by the number of questions. Seven matching answers out of 10 is 70%. There are no overall statistics such as how many people chose each side: SpinPick does not collect answers on a server, so those numbers do not exist, and we do not make them up. Treat the result as a bit of fun.

What is inside the link

The question numbers, your answers and your name, if you entered one, are packed into the part of the link after the # sign. Browsers never send that part to the website, so nothing is stored on SpinPick's server. If the link is cut off or even one character changes, its check value no longer matches and it will not open. Your answers are compressed, not encrypted, so someone determined could decode them before answering.

Playing at parties, in class and for team building

Parties: put a question on screen and have everyone move to the left or right side of the room. Ask the smaller side for a one-line reason and the ice breaks fast.

Classes: it makes a good five-minute warm-up. Pick the superpowers or school and work pack and ask students to write one sentence explaining their choice for quick speaking or writing practice.
